Ask BatDoc #140502

Ask BatDoc A

Dear BatDoc,

Why do men and women have such a tough time getting along?  It’s like they don’t even understand each other.

Wondering Girl

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

Dear Wonder Girl,

Wondering Girl.  Whatever.

Men and women don’t understand each other because they completely different and are needlessly complicated in vastly different ways.

You see, men are like a Rubik’s Cube.  And to women, they seem simple enough.  Six sides with different colors on each side.   But just like a Rubik’s Cube, once you start messing around with one, they get really hard to figure out.  And once they are messed up (usually by a woman), you’ll never solve them unless you know what you’re doing and you know the tricks to solve one.

Now women…women are like super computers.  They are complex and they occupy entire rooms with all their stuff.  They have a lot of peripherals that look fancy but often serve little purpose other than to make them look more appealing.  And sometimes they print and sometimes they don’t for no apparent reason.  And sometimes they just crash because…blue screen (or spinny beach ball if you’re a Mac user and…umm…penguin farts for Linux I guess).  And no matter how much we may think we know how a super computer works, we really don’t.  There are parts of a super computer that work just because it’s a bunch of science crammed in a box (not a euphemism.  Well, mostly not).

The reason women and men seem like they don’t understand each other is…well, to continue the metaphor…a super computer can understand a Rubik’s Cube, and with enough time and computing power or RAMs or CPUs or whatever computers use to figure junk out, a super computer can figure out how to solve a Rubik’s Cube.

But, no matter how much it tries, a Rubik’s Cube will never understand how a super computer works.  Nor would it want to.

Love,
BatDoc
